Donder's Sizing: What sizes do we carry?

At Donder, we use different size groups, depending on the collection:

Newborn Collection

  • Premature: Size 38 and 44 (currently almost sold out)

  • Individual sizes: 50 to 104

Kids Collection (baby, toddler, and child)

  • Size groups: 50/56, 62/68, 74/80, 86/92, 98/104, 110/116, 122/128, 134/140, 146/152

  • Maximum size: 146/152, but from this size, children can eventually try the adult S.

  • Donder sizes usually lean towards the larger of the two sizes in a group. Is your child between two sizes? The smaller size group will still fit due to the stretch without being too tight, while the larger size group will be looser at that time.

Match Collection for Parents

  • Available in S to XXXL

  • The fit is designed for comfortable wear that matches well with the children's clothing.

Hats

  • Children's size: suitable for 6 months to 4 years

  • Adult size: from 4 years

At Donder, the size groups lean towards the larger size. Due to the stretch, a child can often still wear a smaller size. For example, a child who just fits into size 74 can still wear size 62/68, but it will be a bit tighter. If a child is between 68 and 74, the smaller size group will still fit well, while 74/80 will be looser.

Frequently Asked Questions about Sizing

General questions and answers

How do I know which size to choose for my baby?
Measure your baby's length and use the size chart. If your baby is between two sizes, you can choose the smaller size if you want a snug fit, or the larger size if you want it to be looser and last longer.

Which baby clothes size corresponds to which age?
This varies per baby, but on average: size 50 for a newborn, size 56 for 1-2 months, size 62 for 2-4 months, size 68 for 4-6 months, and so on. Consult our size chart for a complete overview.

What is the difference between size 50 and size group 50/56?
Size 50 is a single size, while 50/56 is a size group that leans towards size 56. This means a baby who just fits into size 50 can also wear size group 50/56, but it will be a bit looser.

How do Donder's sizes compare to other brands?
Donder sizes generally run true to size and sometimes a little bit big due to the stretch in the fabrics, which ensures that clothes last longer.

Additional 10 tips for choosing the right size

  1. Don't buy too much in the smallest sizes – babies grow quickly, and some sizes are worn only for a short time. Thanks to our stretchy fabrics, they can last longer on average than other brands.

  2. Measure your baby regularly – especially during growth spurts, they can quickly outgrow a size.

  3. Pay attention to the seasons – don't buy too far in advance. The correct size is often difficult to estimate.

  4. When in doubt, choose the larger size – due to the stretch in Donder clothing, it will last longer.

  5. Look at fits per product – some garments fit differently than standard sizes; this will be indicated if so.

  6. Read customer reviews – other parents' experiences help in estimating the fit.

  7. Check the width of clothing – not just the length, but also the width is important for comfort. Our clothing has so much stretch that this is rarely an issue.

  8. Use Donder's size videos – see how the clothes fit children of different heights and ages.

  9. Our clothing always has a comfortable fit – thanks to the stretchy fabrics, the garments fit nicely and grow with your child. This means you need to buy a new size less often.

  10. Consider washing instructions – although Donder clothing generally does not suffer from this, it is always advisable to follow the washing instructions to maintain fit and quality.
